Monday night, ginger tea in hand, and some tranquil tunes by Sir Miles Davis playing in the background. From my LP collection “Four and More Live in Concert” and thoughts of how impossible it is for the aesthetic sense to survive without sounds that create moods, feelings and vision. Miles Davis, musical genius with irreplicable sounds that also transcended through every other aspect of his life. Esquire’s best dressed man in 1960…the X factor between the correlation of sound and style…end thought…sound is style.

Le coup de foudre, the figurative expression in french meaning love at 1st sight, seems to be the correct phrase to use for the woman who obsesses over her shoes. In particular, her red bottom Christian Louboutin’s.
As a rep of fine goods I definitely get it…If you missed Sir Louboutin’s interview this past Friday with Nightline news then you’ll want to check it out below. I will admit, he has created a true recipe for success…without a doubt, guaranteed to make a man’s eye wander a bit, at the very least toward the feet!
Most noteworthy though, is Mr. Louboutin’s clear formula in creating a piece of art that tells a story for every shoe and the feet that wears them. Look out for the Lion’s paw shoe. Gentlemen, don’t forget to wrap your gift with a black bow!!
Enjoy in HD!

inOver the summer I visited some friends of mine who upon arrival decided to break out a Port wine or Vinho do Porto, as the Portugues say…from that day on I have made Port wine a weekend delight. This isn’t a lesson on wine as I am not a sommelier, but I will say that ports are sweet dessert wines and come in many variations from white ports, red ports, dry, semi dry, several different grapes etc… but as we know developing personal style & taste is all about experimenting which then leads to ownership of your craft. So before you head off to the country side this weekend, pick up a bottle of port and throw it in your weekend tote. If you become a true fan then treat yourself to a vintage. After dinner, try pairing it with some gorgonzola, aged goat cheese, or some blue cheese.
Drink in moderation and in style…tastefully yours!!

Pitti Uomo happens to be that special event held in Florence, Italy every year where you’ll catch style mavens such as Lino Ielluzzi or bespoke umbrella maker Francesco Maglia hanging around. What makes Pitti Uomo exciting is that it is the international stage for what new designs and color palettes will hit stores near you the following seasons. Where new menswear & accessory brands are born and classic staples stand strong. Where individuals from all over the world simply congregate for the sake quality threads to discuss transcending ideas. So those of you who are breaking in to the industry may want to skip “Project” in Vegas and get the goodies ready for Pitti Uomo. Next fair is set for January 10-13, 2012.
Amazingly, I came across some spectacular footage that United Arrows of Japan put together highlighting this years showcase at Pitti Uomo. Some interviews are in Italian or Japanese but style is the universal language so pay close attention and you’ll understand. Perhaps I’ll see you there!

inAs the temperature drops may I suggest getting cozy with that special someone (or special glass of 1998 Opus One) and enjoy some strikingly stylish foreign films featuring French debonair Alain Delon. Style is ubiquitous, even in old films, but when mixed with an incredible story line you can’t go wrong. Le Samourai, Le Cercle Rouge and Mr. Klein are just a few titles that should be in that rare collection of yours.

inO’Mast, which means “master” in the Neapolitan tongue, is a documentary that highlights true craftmanship of old world tailors from Naples, Italy. I watch this trailer with continued anticipation of the full documentary. Passion, style, tradition. Isn’t that what life is about?

Growing up as a kid I always knew that many pre conceived thoughts could be derived from looking at a person shoes. Then as I got older and heard the saying that goes, “you can tell what a person is about by looking at their shoes”, it all made sense!! Then I graduated to shirts, especially as I got into tailor-made dress shirts, they just had to stay fresh and crisp even on casual days (and no I don’t have a compulsive obsessive disorder LOL!!). Those of you who truly appreciate high standards of dress and grooming know what I mean. It’s the sprezzatura touch!!!
So I came across this video on simply ironing a shirt and I felt like a kid again. This guy makes ironing look like a craft, an art to be admired…Im currently trying to source out this electric iron and I’ll keep you posted the moment I find out where to purchase it (I will probably go to the lumber yard and make the ironing table). It’s the simple details of care that brings joy to the complexities of life, not to mention that smile you’ll put on your 1st dates face.
Freshly pressed shirt for the Knight in us all.

There are some who love to spend their leisure time watching horse races and well, there are the others who indulge and salivate over raw horsepower. For the latter half we know that there is no other pleasure than experiencing the heart throbbing 8 cylinder, twin turbo(TT added next year) engines of the global motorsport, Formula1. Amazing news was announced just a few weeks ago regarding a new addition to the 2013 Formula1 circuit… in New Jersey . Yes!! a 3.2 mile Street Track in New Jersey overlooking the New York city skyline, which is already being compared to the great tracks of Monaco and Monte Carlo. Surely to attract fans from all over the world, this will be an event I will NOT miss!!!
Check out the simulated lap in action below…

Tonight’s post is dedicated to the followers who have been constantly asking me about Knights&Armours blog for the past month. For those who appreciate the finer things in life. Those who find an escape through the art of luxury. Even deeper, those who reminded me about the sorts of therapy that is transmitted when sharing thoughts and ideas about the passions and flavors of life.
With that said, I sat back thought about some other forms of therapy I not only enjoy but certainly advocate… In a world dominated by smart-phones, smart-books, voice recognition software and yes even software that can detect your very own thoughts, we might forget the joys and benefits of simply writing our thoughts on paper or keeping a personal journal. Finding a true reflection of self, feelings, even discovery of passions and new journey’s in life. It’s all in the power of the pen!!
The pen made from white gold, adorned with rubies, sapphires, or emeralds and accented by diamonds. Each pen has 840 diamonds and more than 20 carats of stones placed at the Van Cleef & Arpels patented ‘Mystery Setting’. Luxury house Van Cleef & Arpels and Montblanc is the heart of this proud manufacturer stationers named the Mystery Masterpiece, which was launched in February 2006 as a part of the celebration of their centennial.
My personal favorites for everyday usage. From Montblanc’s “Meisterstuck” collection-ball point and fountain pen. Meisterstuck when translated from German to English means Masterpiece. Enjoy and always write in style.
